EMDR Consultant

Position Overview 

The EMDR Consultant plays a key leadership role in developing and supporting MMHC’s trauma focused clinical services. This position provides EMDR consultation, clinical guidance, and training to clinicians working toward EMDR certification or skill development. The EMDR Consultant ensures fidelity to EMDR protocols, enhances clinician competency, and partners with program leaders to expand EMDR integration across the organization. 

Key Responsibilities 

Training, Consultation, and Development 

  • Provide individual and group EMDR consultation in alignment with EMDRIA requirements. 
  • Support clinicians in case conceptualization, treatment planning, and application of EMDR protocols. 
  • Offer feedback, guidance, and documentation of consultation hours. 
  • Contribute to ongoing development of EMDR training pathways and trauma-informed initiatives. 
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EMDR best practices and emerging research. 

Collaboration and Leadership 

  • Partner with clinical leaders to strengthen trauma focused programming across all MMHC locations. 
  • Assist with developing EMDR related training resources, manuals, and organizational guidelines. 
  • Provide clinical insight on complex trauma cases and program development efforts. 
  • Participate in internal training meetings, professional development events, and organization wide consultation activities. 

Clinical Practice  

  • Maintain a small trauma therapy caseload to support clinical excellence and applied EMDR practice. 

Qualifications 

  • Independent clinical licensure in Minnesota (LICSW, LPCC, LMFT, LP). 
  • EMDRIA Approved Consultant status (required). 
  • Minimum 2 years of post certification EMDR experience. 
  • Demonstrated expertise with trauma focused interventions. 
  • Strong teaching, consultation, and communication skills. 
  • Ability to support clinicians in a positive, strengths based, and developmental manner.
