Title: Lead Outpatient Clinician

The Lead Outpatient Clinician role aims to support outpatient providers in a given region through attending to the provider and client experience at Minnesota Mental Health Clinics. In this role, the Lead Clinician would work to ensure high quality services are being delivered, providers are supported in their practice, opportunities for growth and development are offered to providers, client concerns are heard and addressed and support with documentation or other clinical processes is offered. The Lead Outpatient Clinician would report directly to the Senior Director of Outpatient Services. 

Role responsibilities: 

Assist in the development of and oversight of clinical team: 

  • Interview, recommend and onboard highly talented providers. 
  • Offer mentorship and guidance to clinicians. 
  •  Support efficiencies and problem solving with the clinical portion of processes, such as: 
  • Documentation  
  • Billing 
  • Scheduling 
  • Client communication 
  • Manage provider performance – includes, but is not limited to: 
  • communicating expectations  
  • conducting timely in person performance reviews  
  • coaching 
  • developing clinical skill  
  • providing recognition  
  • providing disciplinary actions when needed  
  • using patient experience data to celebrate and enhance provider practice 
  • Support action on Client Experience and clinical team survey data  
  • Manage provider productivity and address issues in a timely manner  
  • Engage in employee rounding activities 

Maintain clinical practice and supervision 

  • This is a full-time (40-hour) position, which includes 20 hours of client contact and 20 hours of administrative time dedicated to the lead responsibilities. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Completed Master’s or Doctoral Degree (LICSW, LPC, LPCC, LMFT or Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an accredited academic program)  
  • Established leadership experience that includes oversight of clinicians (licensed and unlicensed), project management, navigating operational efficiencies, assisting with change management and prioritizing employee engagement and retention. 
  • Experience providing supervision and professional development to unlicensed clinicians and licensed clinicians.  
  • Current active license in the state of Minnesota  
  • Good standing with the professional board  
  • Experience providing clinical services with high acuity patients  
  • Computer skills including using Microsoft Office products and healthcare software 
  • The ability to supervise unlicensed therapists and committed to supporting their professional development in alignment with licensure requirements and ethical standards.
