Position Overview:
Minnesota Mental Health Clinics is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Training, Talent Development, and Community Outreach Director to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive clinical internship and training program, while also partnering on the organization’s community outreach initiatives. This role is responsible for ensuring the program aligns with best practices, remains fully staffed, and maintains a strong reputation in the community. The successful candidate will contribute to the organization’s financial and cultural value by creating a robust talent pipeline, establishing educational and mentorship opportunities, and expanding community engagement efforts to enhance our organizational impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Internship Program Development:
- Design and implement a masters-level clinical internship program that aligns with industry best practices.
- Ensure the program is consistently filled with qualified candidates and maintains a positive reputation in the community.
- Evaluate the program’s financial and cultural impact on Minnesota Mental Health Clinics.
- Develop partnerships with educational institutions to create a steady flow of qualified interns.
- Talent Pipeline and Professional Growth:
- Develop a structured career pathway for clinicians at all career stages within the organization.
- Create and promote educational opportunities to increase clinician engagement and development.
- Establish training programs that support the development of clinicians, supervisors, clinical leaders, and specialty practices.
- Design and implement efficient specialty training programs by leveraging internal and external trainers.
- Develop mentorship programs and courses aimed at improving clinical outcomes.
- Explore opportunities to offer training programs to external community members as an additional revenue stream.
- Community Outreach and Partnerships:
- Develop and execute community outreach strategies to promote training efforts and build key partnerships with schools and organizations.
- In partnership with the VP of Growth and Marketing, foster relationships with external stakeholders to enhance Minnesota Mental Health Clinics’ reputation and influence in the community.
- Facilitate clinician involvement in community activities such as conferences, speaking engagements, and school partnerships.
- Act as a liaison between the organization and local educational institutions to support student development.
- Oversee the planning and execution of community events, including public health initiatives and awareness campaigns.
- Collaboration with Marketing and Growth Teams:
- Partner with marketing and growth teams to inform and develop outward-facing materials that enhance visibility and engagement.
- Provide insights on effective marketing strategies to expand training opportunities beyond internal reach.
- Support efforts to position Minnesota Mental Health Clinics as a thought leader in the mental health field through strategic marketing initiatives.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Work closely with the compliance/quality assurance team to ensure all training practices adhere to state and federal regulations.
- Maintain compliance with accreditation standards and oversee the application and maintenance of training accreditations.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to stay current with evolving industry regulations.
- Determine the highest-priority areas for quality improvement and develop related training programs or process enhancements to achieve desired outcomes.
- Assemble and lead interdisciplinary workgroups, guided by project charters, to address and achieve key priorities effectively.
Metrics for Success:
- Internship Program Enrollment: Maintain an internship program occupancy rate of at least 90% year-round.
- Intern to Employee Conversion: Achieve a 50% conversion rate of interns transitioning into full-time roles within the organization.
- Clinician Engagement: Achieve an 80% participation rate in professional development opportunities.
- Community Partnerships: Establish and maintain a minimum of 10 active partnerships with educational institutions and community organizations.
- Community Engagement: Organize and execute at least 6 community events per year with measurable impact.
- Revenue Generation: Develop at least one new external training program annually to contribute to revenue growth.
- Multi-module Course Development: Create module-based learning for staff that aim to build out learning and development in the following areas:
- MMHC Identity & Pillars of Care Course: Develop and implement a structured learning module for new clinicians (and, when relevant, all employees) that clearly defines MMHC’s identity, mission, values, and pillars of care.
- Clinical Gap Training Courses: Identify and create targeted clinical training modules in collaboration with clinical leaders to address skill gaps and improve care quality.
- Talent Development Learning Tracks: Design and integrate courses that align with larger talent development initiatives, ensuring ongoing professional growth for all staff.
- Quality Assurance Training: Work collaboratively with the compliance team to develop and deliver training programs as needed, ensuring all applicable staff meet the organization’s compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in a relevant clinical field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Counseling) required;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical training, program development, and community outreach.
- Proven track record of developing and managing internship and training programs.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
- Excellent community outreach and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in informing and partnering on marketing and growth strategies.
- Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
