Laura has experience working with clients in a mental health day treatment program as well as a MI/CD program, in hospital based settings.   She is a dually licensed therapist, and previously worked in the Minneapolis Arts Community as a choreographer.  Her treatment approach is person-centered with a strengths based lens.  She strives to ensure her clients feel safe and heard while experiencing unconditional positive regard in their sessions.  When appropriate she leans into a variety of evidence based modalities including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).  She also regularly employs Creativity, Humor, and Narrative Therapy, in clients’ healing.  While working toward licensure, Laura completed her practicum in the Whittier neighborhood of South Minneapolis focusing on substance use disorders and worked in a community based clinic in Uptown Minneapolis.  In her spare time she enjoys walking her dog along Minnehaha Creek, reading, and spending time with her family/friends.
