Job Description

Minnesota Mental Health Clinics is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team. As a Mental Health NP, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of mental health disorders. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care tailored to the unique needs of each patient. This role involves both in-person and remote consultations, with a focus on fostering a therapeutic relationship to support patients’ mental health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments, including patient interviews, medical history reviews, and physical examinations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments and patient goals.
  • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, adjusting treatment as necessary.
  • Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and strategies for coping.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in mental health care.

Your Skills & Expertise

  • Possess strong clinical skills in mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Have experience in prescribing and managing psychiatric medications.

Must-Have Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A valid and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in Minnesota
  • Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in mental health care.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices in psychiatric care.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
