Pediatric EMDR Therapist

Location: Minnesota (Hybrid eligible, depending on client needs)

Position Overview 

The Pediatric EMDR Therapist provides trauma focused psychotherapy to children and adolescents using EMDR and other evidence-based approaches. This role supports MMHC’s commitment to trauma informed care by delivering high quality treatment, maintaining strong engagement with families, and collaborating with internal and external partners to ensure comprehensive care. The Pediatric EMDR Therapist conducts diagnostic assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, and participates in case consultation and professional development. 

Key Responsibilities 

Clinical Practice 

  • Provide EMDR therapy to children and adolescents experiencing trauma, anxiety, attachment disruptions, behavioral concerns, and related conditions. 
  • Conduct Diagnostic Assessments (DAs) and develop individualized treatment plans that reflect client strengths, needs, and goals. 
  • Maintain a developmentally sensitive therapeutic approach. 
  • Deliver care that aligns with EMDRIA standards and MMHC’s best practice guidelines. 
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in the EHR. 
  • Participate in regular supervision, staff meetings, and continuing education. 

Collaboration and Communication 

  • Partner with caregivers, schools, pediatricians, and other providers to coordinate treatment and support client well being. 
  • Engage in multidisciplinary consultation to support quality care and case conceptualization. 
  • Contribute to a trauma informed, patient centered culture across pediatric programs. 

Qualifications 

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling and Psychology. 
  • Licensed or license eligible in Minnesota (LICSW/LICSW eligible, LPCC/LPC, LMFT/LAMFT, LP). 
  • EMDR Basic Training from an EMDRIA approved program (required). 
  • Experience working with children and adolescents (required). 
  • Strong understanding of trauma informed care principles. 
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
