Program Therapist (Adult Intensive Outpatient Program)

Minnesota Mental Health Clinics is excited to welcome a full-time Program Therapist to our Adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This is a Monday–Friday, 1.0 FTE (40-hour per week) position designed for clinicians working toward independent licensure who are passionate about providing group and individual therapy in a structured, skills-based program.
This position includes:
- 20 hours/week of client-facing IOP group services (including intakes),
- 10 hours/week of outpatient individual therapy (required),
- 10 hours/week of administrative responsibilities (e.g., documentation, care coordination, supervision if applicable, and weekly consultation meetings).
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate DBT- or CBT-informed group therapy sessions for adults (18+) enrolled in our Adult IOP program.
- Conduct intake assessments for new group clients, including diagnostic interviews, treatment planning, and expectation setting.
- Provide individual outpatient therapy to adult clients as part of a required caseload.
- Assist clients in managing crises as they arise in group and individual sessions.
- Develop and regularly update group treatment plans in alignment with state and payer guidelines.
- Monitor client progress through continuous assessment and adapt treatment plans accordingly.
- Coordinate care with other providers, family members, or relevant community supports as needed.
- Complete high-quality, timely clinical documentation in compliance with agency and insurance standards.
- Participate in weekly DBT consultation meetings (group supervision).
- Maintain licensure in good standing, including completing all required continuing education and renewal requirements.
Supervision:
We offer a limited number of supervised positions for highly qualified Master’s-level clinicians pursuing independent licensure in psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or professional counseling. Supervision is provided at no cost and includes:
- Weekly individual and group supervision with experienced supervisors.
- Diagnostic assessments, progress notes, and intakes reviewed and co-signed by your clinical supervisor.
- Ongoing clinical support, case consultation, and opportunities for professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a mental health-related field.
- Licensed or currently pursuing independent licensure (LPCC, LICSW, LMFT, LP).
- Prior experience working with adult mental health clients through internship or employment (e.g., IOP, residential, crisis services, group therapy).
- Experience facilitating DBT or CBT groups in an outpatient or intensive program preferred.
- Strong diagnostic and treatment planning skills.
- Competency with electronic documentation and general computer skills (Microsoft Office, EHR systems).
- Willingness to adapt to emerging technology and software platforms.

Pay: $70,000-$74,500
