Clinician is a dedicated and highly skilled mental health practitioner who brings a strong ethical foundation and a commitment to excellence in clinical care. With a refined and client-centered approach, she provides comprehensive mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. Clinician practice reflects a balance of clinical rigor and compassionate care, encouraging a therapeutic environment that promotes emotional safety, resilience, and long-term well-being.

Clinician practice integrates a range of evidence-based and holistic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, Movement Therapy, and Christian Counseling. Clinician specializes in addressing concerns such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), disordered conduct, self-esteem challenges, parenting difficulties, grief and loss, and interpersonal relationship issues. Clinician also incorporates mindfulness-based strategies to enhance emotional regulation and support clients in developing effective coping mechanisms tailored to their individual needs.

In addition, Clinician is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapeutic approach specifically designed to treat trauma and trauma-related conditions. EMDR involves guiding clients through structured phases of treatment that include identifying distressing memories, engaging in bilateral stimulation (such as guided eye movements), and facilitating the adaptive reprocessing of traumatic experiences. This process helps reduce the emotional intensity of past events while supporting the development of healthier cognitive and emotional responses. Through the integration of EMDR, clinician assists clients in resolving unresolved trauma, strengthening resilience, and achieving meaningful and lasting healing.

Q&A

What was your path to becoming a mental health professional?

My journey to becoming a mental health professional began with an undergraduate degree in Health Science, which laid the foundation for understanding holistic health and wellness. I furthered my education with a Master's degree in Public Health, emphasizing the importance of community health and preventative care. My professional experiences have been diverse and enriching: I worked with autistic children, served as the Assistant Director for Social Work, and provided outpatient therapy at JTC Counseling Services using the EIDBI program. Each role has contributed to my comprehensive understanding of mental health, blending clinical expertise with community-based approaches. These experiences have equipped me with the skills and empathy necessary to support individuals across various settings on their mental health journeys.

What should clients expect when working with you?

Clients working with me as a mental health clinician outpatient therapist can expect a compassionate, client-centered approach that prioritizes their unique needs and goals. I create a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard and understood, fostering a collaborative therapeutic relationship. Utilizing evidence-based practices, such as those outlined in the EIDBI program, I tailor interventions to each individual's circumstances, focusing on achieving meaningful progress and personal growth. Clients can anticipate consistent support, clear communication, and practical strategies to manage their mental health challenges. My commitment is to empower clients with the tools and insights needed for lasting well-being and resilience.

If you could be doing anything else, what would it be?

I would likely pursue a career in community health advocacy. This role would allow me to combine my passion for public health and social work, focusing on creating and implementing programs that address health disparities and promote wellness at a community level. Engaging in policy development, education, and outreach efforts, I would work to ensure equitable access to health resources and support services. This path aligns with my dedication to holistic health and my desire to make a broader impact on societal well-being. Nevertheless, I would still love to pursue my mental health career path because of the passion and zeal I have for the job. The direct, transformative impact I can have on individual lives as a mental health clinician is immensely fulfilling, and it drives me to continuously improve and provide the best possible care for my clients.
