Q&A
What was your path to becoming a mental health professional?
I have always been interested in what motivates and shapes individuals. This initially had me exploring and experimenting in Performance Theatre during my undergraduate years. I later fell in love with a Developmental Psychology course, which ultimately shifted my focus to psychology, counseling, and the helping profession.
What should clients expect when working with you?
My clients can expect to be seated in the driver's seat. While I will always have ideas and suggestions for exploration, I want my clients to feel they can direct the focus of therapy to the areas in need of attention. They can also expect a relaxed, comfortable approach where they can be authentically themselves.
If you could be doing anything else, what would it be?
I have always valued a holistic approach to mental health. If I wasn't focused on therapy, I would definitely be working as a dietician, physical therapist, or perhaps even a personal trainer. The mind-body connection is fascinating to me.
