Q&A

What was your path to becoming a mental health professional?

I've always loved surrounding myself with people and desired a career that allowed me to have a more "hands-on" and personal approach to providing care. I have always been curious about the experiences of others and found myself very motivated to spark change within the lives of those around me. I made the decision to follow the track of marriage and family therapy as I am intrigued by the complexities of relationships and believe that every client brings with them a host of experiences and beliefs informed by their interactions with the people in their lives.

What should clients expect when working with you?

My therapeutic approach is a combination of many different things with the primary intention of supporting my clients as they are the true changemakers. The best part about my job is getting to know my clients on a personal level that cultivates our individualized and unique connection. I value authenticity, honesty, and dedication in my practice, and it is my intention to follow these same expectations myself. Both my younger (and older) clients should expect a hands-on approach to therapy with active interventions, including tailored worksheets and activities for clients to hold on to, as well as a solution-oriented perspective intended to motivate my clients in and out of session.

If you could be doing anything else, what would it be?

I'd be living in a small, secluded beach town working at my bookstore/coffee shop that is enjoyed by both locals and tourists alike. When she's not busy touring the world, my best friend Taylor Swift often drops by for her favorite caramel latte and a new read.
