Q&A
What was your path to becoming a mental health professional?
I started my medical training in neurology because I was fascinated by the brain-how it works, how it breaks down, and how it shapes our experiences. But as I spent more time with patients, I found myself wanting to understand more than just the biology. I wanted to know who they were, what they'd been through, and how they made sense of their lives. That curiosity ultimately led me to psychiatry.
I've always been drawn to the complexity of how people think, feel, and behave. I believe everyone has a story, and part of my role is to listen carefully and help people make sense of what they're going through. I see psychiatry as a space where medicine and meaning meet-it allows me to offer both clinical support and long-term perspective, whether through supportive therapy, medication, or a combination of the two.
What should clients expect when working with you?
If you work with me, you can expect a thoughtful, respectful, and down-to-earth approach. I try to create a space where you can speak freely, feel heard, and explore what matters to you-especially during difficult or uncertain times.
If you could be doing anything else, what would it be?
If I weren't in medicine, I'd probably be a photojournalist or investigative journalist-something that still lets me ask questions, look closely, and try to understand the world through other people's eyes. That same spirit of curiosity and connection is what I bring into the work I do now.
