Q&A
What was your path to becoming a mental health professional?
Growing up, I remember listening to friends, family members, and podcast hosts (lol) talking about how helpful and interesting their conversations with their therapists were. I figured, I like helping people and I like really interesting conversations, so I took Psychology 101 in college. I haven't looked back since!
What should clients expect when working with you?
When working with me, clients can expect a comfortable, safe space to explore what they've been struggling with. Sessions often include laughter, tears, and meaningful conversations about life, alongside thoughtful questions and reflections that help make sense of patterns, history, and ways of thinking. I aim to be affirming and non-judgmental, while also gently challenging self-criticism and unhelpful narratives.
If you could be doing anything else, what would it be?
There's lots of different options, but I always come back to music and theatre - maybe a choir director or a theatre teacher or something like that. I also would love to be a college psychology professor. Or if we're talking about dreams, I would travel around the world, go to professional tennis tournaments, and eat great food.
